IDRA®Version 3.0 Ballistometer (Integrated Dynamic Rebound Analyzer) is a PC-based (USB port linked) Ballistometer, which employs a dynamic technique for assessing the intrinsic viscoelastic properties of a material, i.e., determining physical properties of materials which do not depend on the method of measurement. For relatively soft materials, such as skin, the measurement technique generally involves a light-weight hammer, anchored at one end, which free-falls onto the test surface under gravitational force, recording and analysis of the resulting hammer oscillatory displacement-time data, and the determination of characteristic physical parameters. IDRA® is the instrument of choice:

  • Non-destructive, Non-invasive, Fast (1-2 seconds) and Easy To Use
  • 14 Diagnostics Extracted from a Single Response Curve (see Definitions of Parameters, below)
  • Bioengineering Applications, e.g. studies of skin tone
  • Characteristic Viscoelastic Properties Extracted for a Wide Range of Materials
  • Windows Software Runs on Notebooks or Desktop Computers With 2000, XP, Vista, or Windows 7
  • 12 bit Highspeed, Interrupt-Driven, Data Acquisition
  • Runs, Collects & Processes Data Directly In Microsoft® Excel (versions 2000 to latest)
  • Lifetime Product Support and Free Updates

IDRA® Version 3.0 is installed as an Excel COM Add-in DLL, which greatly extends the functionality of the Instrument. IDRA® hardware/software components and Microsoft's EXCEL synergize to make a powerful diagnostic tool.

Purchase Only The System Components That Are Actually Needed!

IDRA® Ballistometer System consists of seven (7) sub-assemblies: (1) the enclosure with detachable AC power cable and USB cable, (2)a rotary transducer with cable, (3) holding Electromagnet with cable, (4)ballistic hammer, (5)multi-positional mounting plate, (6)a fixed stand with swivel clamp, and (7)IDRA® control and data processing software. Third-Party R&D designs for these sub-assemblies have been thoroughly tested in-house and by independent laboratories and we generally recommend that customers purchase complete systems from us. However, Third-Party R&D recognizes that some customers prefer to substitute their own component designs for some of the sub-assemblies. In keeping with the goal of meeting actual customers needs, IDRA® Ballistometer Systems are sold as follows:
